Meet Daniel

MEET DANIEL

Daniel’s a truck driver with Aquatrans, a local Vancouver Island owned business.

With the downturn in the Alberta economy in 2008, Daniel adapted his skills and saw an opportunity on the coast. He and his family moved to Nanaimo for his new job, and they’ve since settled and call it home.

“I just wanted a solid and reliable job that allowed me to see my family every night. I love what I do, I travel up and down the coast delivering farm fresh fish to different locations. It’s neat to think that some of it travels all the way over to Asian countries.”

Daniel’s job is just one of thousands of in-direct jobs that salmon farming employs here on Vancouver Island. For him, he’s thankful to call Nanaimo home, and excited to see his kids grow up on the Island.
