The 9th Annual BC Shellfish and Seafood Festival was held in the Comox Valley from June 12-21. With June designated as B.C. Seafood month, the 10-day festival served as a celebration of seafood excellence in British Columbia.

Aquaculture Canada 2015: Blue Revolution 2.0

The Aquaculture Association of Canada (AAC) held it’s 31st annual conference at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre in Nanaimo from May 31 to June 3, 2015. The BC Salmon Farmer’s Association was involved in a big way as a top sponsor, encouraging member participation from both the producer and service sectors of the industry.

West Coast Grizzly Tour

It’s been a busy May and June for the BC Salmon Farmers Association, and we have been involved in some pretty great experiences and adventures. On May 22, salmon farmers joined Tide Rip Grizzly Adventures, based out of Telegraph Cove, for a day-long tour to learn more about B.C.’s eco-tourism industry and the behaviours of our province’s grizzly bears.

Unique Training Program Inspires Career Success

The unemployment rate for the working-age Aboriginal population is more than twice the rate for other Canadians of the same age, and it’s even higher for those living on reserves – especially remote First Nations communities such as Ahousaht in the Clayoquot Sound.
