Culinary Team From Vancouver Island Takes On Healthy Chefs Competition

For the first time in its 18-year history, the Healthy Chef Competition welcomes a team from Vancouver Island to compete against nine other teams from the Metro Vancouver area on March 22, 2017. This annual competition – presented by the BC Produce Marketing Association and the BC Chefs Association – promises to be a fun evening of gourmet dining.

Badinotti reveals its specialized net cleaning vessel, Bravo II

Badinotti celebrated their latest advancement in net cleaning efficiency as they unveiled the Bravo II at the Coast Discovery Marina on Wednesday, March 8th. Members from the aquaculture industry, academic institutions representatives, and the local Campbell River community were invited to tour Badinotti’s new flagship vessel and speak with members of the crew, as well as the Badinotti team about the net cleaning process and what it will mean for the future of the industry.

Collaboration on the Coast Fosters an Atmosphere of Understanding

On March 1st and 2nd, the BCSFA hosted its second annual Collaborations on the Coast workshop at the Vancouver Island Conference Center in Nanaimo. Over the two days, a variety of representatives from the industry, scientific community, government, and conservation groups came together to discuss, share and review research concerning B.C.’s coastal environment and its wild marine species.
